Since being a transplant to the northwoods of Wisconsin Rich has become a avid duck hunter. Along with chasing birds Rich enjoys being a weekend hobbiest. Durring the winter a few years back he built his own hybrid boat for hunting the tight sloughs of Wisconsin. He shares his passion for waterfowl with his love for motocycles. Durring late summer and early fall if not scouting you can find him on his bike touring the beautiful back roads of norther Wisconsin. Durring Rich's time as a pro staff member he has helped in putting together the shop and also doing some feild testing of new product. With his love for motors he can also be found working on the duck boat motors. He has become a valued member of our team and an even better friend. We want to thank Rich for all that he has done. Shoot straight and ride hard.

I have lived in central wi most of my life. Ever since I can remember I have been in the outdoors hunting and fishing with my father. A few years ago I discovered how addicting duck hunting is, and have been dedicated since. I have always gone on an annual goose hunting trip, but come fall, my focus was on deer hunting. The past two years I have given up on deer, and put all my focus and effort into waterfowl. The only thing I like to do more than shoot waterfowl is eat them! My 3 year old son will be joining me in the blind for the first time, something I look forward to, to be able to have his journey starting in this wonderful thing we call hunting.
“Not the cry, but the flight of the wild duck, leads the flock to fly and follow.”

I started duck hunting in 1965 when I was 14 years old. My brother Vern lived near Long Tail Point on Green Bay near what is now the Sensiba State Wildlife Area. We would row a small boat from his house to a blind that was a few hundred yards down the bay. We would often watch huge rafts of divers come and go. I used a 16 gauge single shot that had a very long tang. It would cut into the web of my right hand with every shot soon leaving an ugly raw sore. My brother Dave felt sorry for me so the next year he bought me a 20 gauge Remington semi-auto. What an improvement-no more blood in the glove. Now I shoot a 12 gauge Beretta AL391 Urika. It doesn’t shoot any better than that old 16 gauge but it sure is pretty.

I have always been an avid outdoorsman, learning as most Midwest boys, from watching my father and tagging along whenever possible. My first real waterfowl hunt was in college in 1996, one of my teammates was from Washington, and asked about duck hunting. With the Bay of Green Bay being right here we grabbed some decoys and found some public land and the rest is history. Although, until only the last three years, with the urging of my younger brother and father, I have become addicted to the rush of the waterfowl hunt! The action you get whether it be hunting in flooded corn for wood ducks, open water hunting for divers on the Bay, shore hunting early mallards on the Bay, or layout goose hunting in a freshly cut field, is unmatched by any hunting in Northeast Wisconsin. One of the best duck habitat and populations you can find in the nation the Bay never fails to produce ducks! A recent trip out to Northern Montana, has me hooked on what has become a way of life…DUCK HUNTING. What better way to spend with friends and family???

I started duck hunting in the late 1960’s while I was in High School in Northern Wisconsin. As many recall, the point system at that time really turned off a lot of duck hunters. I have hunted in the swamps of northern Wisconsin, farmland potholes in Northeast Wisconsin, Jump shot woodies on the Peshtigo river, field hunted ducks and geese from layouts in cornfields all over eastern Wisc., Trudged the cattails of the Bay for mallards, open water hunted divers in the Bay of Green Bay and also hunted divers in “Big Sky” country in Montana. Everyone should experience the thrill of hunting from a layout boat in the Bay of Green Bay-eye to eye with your quarry. I enjoy waterfowl hunting with both of my Sons, I have experienced their love for the sport and the habitat and their evolution into experienced waterfowl gunners, dog handlers and callers these past few years. There is nothing more satisfying than to convince wary ducks into your blocks and be able to harvest them cleanly. The only thing better than waterfowl hunting is preparing new (or good old standby) recipe’s and sharing them with family and friends.
Shoot straight and often and take a kid hunting to insure the sport for tomorrow.

I have been hunting waterfowl since I could hold up a shotgun big enough to kill'em. From pond hopping as a kid to in your face action as the owner of a guide service, waterfowling is a diverse sport I love to share with my family and young hunters. I am dedicated to the conservation of this great pastime by mentoring youth and introducing new fowlers to the in's and out's of this great sport.

I live in South East Georgia where you really have to work to find the few birds that we have. I have always been an avid outdoors man, love the wild, but my passion and my focus is focused on waterfowl hunting. I really enjoy taking new people to the hunt with me and seeing their reactions when the birds come to our spread and we kill some birds out of them.

I have been waterfowl hunting for the last 14 years, ever since a former coworker got me hooked with a late season goose hunt. Ever since that goose hunt I have been addicted to chasing ducks and geese, either by laying in a field or sitting in a blind overlooking a lake. My favorite parts of the hunt are spending time with good friends, the sights and sounds of the marsh coming a live in morning and watching the birds decoy in...getting to shoot some is just a bonus! I love to watch and listen to a first time water-fowler's excitement after that first trip to the blind. I feel that it's our responsibility as hunters to pass on our knowledge to new hunters to keep the addiction that is waterfowl hunting from dying. I'm honored that Phil has asked me to join the Drake Dropper family

When I was 8 years old, my father took me squirrel hunting with a single shot 410. That experience thatmy father shared with me grew to a passion for the outdoors that has never left me and never will.
As the years followed, I have hunted moose and bears in Canada, deer hunted in many states and
occasionally turkey hunted. In 2002, a good friend and his wife invited me to waterfowl hunt with them.
I remember him asking me “Have you ever Waterfowl hunted?” My response was “Why would I want
to shoot a duck?" From the moment I got to the creek I was completely hooked and in love with every
aspect of the sport, from the sunrises to the sunsets, from the fog on the water to the ice freezing on the
dog. The past 10 years I have primarily focused on waterfowl hunting, spending the off season training
my chocolate lab, scouting, waterfowl preservation and trying to create better habitats for ducks within our area of Virginia. One of the greatest aspects of waterfowl hunting has been the ability to enjoy and share it with my wife, children and friends. I am honored to be on the Pro Staff at Drake Dropper Calls and look forward to sharing my love of waterfowl hunting with all of you.

My dad got me into duck hunting when I was a kid and I've been hooked ever since! Getting up early, setting out decoys, the morning sunrise, and spending time with friends and family just cant be beat. Watching the ducks come in and start working the spread just gets my blood pumpin! I like to take people out who are new to waterfowling just so they can experience it for themselves. To me its not all about killin your limit every day (although its nice when it happens), its about being outdoors and helping to make sure that waterfowl hunting never dies!

I have been waterfowl hunting for the last 13 years. After my first waterfowl hunt I was hooked and gave up chasing deer. Ever since then, you will find me in a field hunting geese or a flooded marsh chasing puddle ducks. I enjoy sharing a blind with good friends and watching the birds cup up and commit to the decoys. I love seeing the eyes of a young or first time hunter experience their first flock of ducks locking up and swinging into the decoys. Any time I get a spare minute, I try to do anything waterfowl related whether it's working with conservation or promoting the sport with people who haven’t had a chance to participate in the outdoors. I am also very active in Ducks Unlimited, serving as the zone 1 chairman that covers 8 chapters in the Northwest region of the state.
